The property features a full-height courtyard which the whole property is pinned around; this courtyard lacked design language or wow-factor, so we started by overhauling this space, creating a striking entrance and setting the identity for the entirety of the property.
We redesigned the courtyard’s layout to add ribbed wall pillars, a rectangular patio and vertical iron slatted shutters to set the tone for the language of lines which was carried up throughout the entire property. We used a free-standing olive tree to introduce drama and height, and uplighters ensured the drama of the space carried through from day to night. Within the 3-storey townhouse we redefined the interior architecture and layout, creating a large master suite which is accessed through a stunning sewing/creative studio, building an angular patio outside the master bedroom, combining several small rooms to create an open-plan living and dining space with open dry kitchen and eastern, wet kitchen accessible through elegant double doo
We took the stunning lines of the property and used that as the cornerpoint of our design language for the property, creating strong seamless lines through the use of angular marble floor patterns, vertical slatted pocket doors, oversized iron shelving unit in the lounge and strong, seamless lines in the dry kitchen. To introduce warmth and contrast to the space we used softly curved furniture including a bespoke green suede sofa, oval Italian marble dining table, round side tables, a circular fine silk rug and iconic circular bedside chandeliers. To ensure the home grew with the clients children, we created inspiring and fun spaces throughout the house that could mature with them. On the basement floor we designed a playroom with an inbuilt platform which featured bespoke paint splattered wallpaper and slide and floor to ceiling storage. This room was designed so that it could be transformed into more of a study or gaming room as the children grew. The children’s bedrooms on the top floor also both featured climbing walls, giving them options for spaces to play. The master suite was reinterpreted from several smaller rooms to create a standout space that is accessed through an elegant creative studio which featured a bespoke designed thread wall and plenty of storage space. Pocket doors maximize the space and allow the client to section of the space as they feel comfortable. A plush master bedroom, walk through wardrobe and slick ensuite featuring stunning smoked glass for the shower and toilet complete the master suite. Off the master suite was a splash pool which the clients didn’t want, we created an angular patio which is suspended over the pool and allows for the clients to reopen and use it should they wish.
