ORIGINs of our passion
Elliot’s passion for design began early on, heavily influenced by his family. His father, an engineer, passed down a love for precision and a keen eye for detail. At the same time, his mother and grandmother, both enthusiastic about interior design, immersed him in a world of creativity. He grew up in the midst of home makeovers, surrounded by paint samples, fabric swatches, and the charm of beautiful antiques.
Elliot’s career began in furniture design, driven by a desire to craft pieces that blended form and function seamlessly. In 2008, he launched his own furniture studio, refining his eye for detail and honing an instinct for quality that would become his signature. By 2012, Elliot's vision had expanded beyond furniture, and alongside his business partner Tom, they transformed the company into an interior design and architecture studio. This evolution saw Elliot James Interiors make its mark in Asia, combining a love for materials, textures, and the subtle details that bring a space to life.
Elliot’s approach to design is deeply personal. He sees each space as an opportunity to create a story—a narrative that unfolds in every choice of fabric, every piece of furniture, and every carefully selected finish. For Elliot, design isn’t just about aesthetics; it's about how a space feels. It’s the warmth of a hand-polished wood grain, the quiet elegance of a well-chosen light fixture, and the way sunlight plays across a room.
